We’re just back from UK trade and shopping event Best of Britannia where we exhibited for the second year running. It’s been great to meet like minded brands who are passionate about making high end, high quality goods in the UK.
Age of Reason is not a heritage brand, but we do champion British manufacturing by making all our scarves here. It’s been refreshing to see that not only is UK prodution life and well, but that contemporary goods are being created using traditional techniques across a wide variety of fields. Some highlights for us included Cox London who specialise in strong sculptural furniture and lighting pieces with an aged patina.

Another favorite has to be our neighbouring stand Fan Optics who produce creative, directional eye-wear to a high standard. I found this exciting as I haven’t seen many British made sunnies up close before, and couldn’t help coveting most of the collection.

Jessica de Lotz was out in force again. If you know her work and her inimitable style you’ll know what I mean. I was especially impressed by this ring with it’s martini glass shape and pivoting face.
As ever, our most popular piece was the “I Will Never Surrender” scarf. We’ve got more of this anarchic sketchy genre up our sleeve for next season too!
