Age of Reason at Best of Britannia Oct 3-4-5

With our London Fashion Week show complete, and a chill in the air, we’re making final preparations for our October show, Best of Britannia.  Pocket squares are being hand rolled, labels stamped,  hems pressed and the excitement is mounting.

From the Victorian  “Farmiloe” warehouse in Farrindon, London, BoB brings together British Made products from fashion to motoring, art, food, wine, and design on Oct 3-4-5th. This will be our second year and we’re really looking forward to exhibiting again alongside brands like Cheaney Shoes, Jessica De Lotz jewellery, Hose Tights, Archie Foal knitwear and Lizzie Lock hats. Last year we met two of our current stockists Young British Designers, and Susannah Hall, and were able to tell our brand story to an audience with a genuine interest in the British production process.  Buyers heard how each of our print designs is hand painted onto water colour paper in Brighton, before being printed onto silk or wool in Cheshire, then finished by a skilled seamstress in Yorkshire.  Ours isn’t an unusual story at Bob, as the whole event is populated exclusively by brands with similar UK manufacturing stories. There’s a friendly atmosphere of camaraderie amongst the brands too, and plenty of tip-swapping, which we found really refreshing and helpful. Face-to-face chats between designers and buyers are also useful for both sides. We’ve developed hand-rolled pocket squares and silk cushions as a direct result of  feedback from the show.
