A couple of weeks ago we attended Mary Portas’s Thank You party for the staff at Mary’s Living and Giving – a Save the Children retail venture in Primrose Hill. There are 7 of these concept charity shops around London, and we were really impressed with this one. This is a place where you can genuinely grab a designer bargain at a fair price and walk away with that “I’ve found treasure” feeling.
Things are definitely looking up on the party front since the sun came out, and this was very much an alfresco event, with Marawa’s Majorettes hoola-hooping the night away, a gormet ice-cream wagon and plenty of pavement hobnobbing. We had the pleasure of meeting the fab shop volunteers, hearing a speech from Mary Queen of Shops herself and chats with fashion illustration artist Marc McGreevy who is working on a Save the Children project with us.
